Who is CHCE?

The Center for Home Care Excellence (CHCE) is a private, independent organization that is working to educate consumers, to improve transparency in the long term care industry and to promote policies to support and retain credentialed care providers.

CHCE was founded in response to the complex and fragmented regulatory oversight of the industry and to mitigate the existing shortage of credentialed workers. By establishing standards and collecting information about providers, CHCE helps consumers make better choices for themselves and their loved ones. Providers who meet CHCEs rigorous standards are granted the “Seal of Distinction” in recognition of their professionalism and commitment to quality care.

The Center was founded by Dr. Jerry Flanagan, an optometrist with over 20 years of experience in clinical patient care. Dr. Flanagan has conducted extensive research in the medical field. He has been published in a number of peer-reviewed medical journals and has taught outcomes research and health care financing courses at the University of California, San Diego.
